The decision to create a collection of five sophisticated wooden spinning tops came from the desire to work with a physical material, as opposed to designing for a cardboard box that could be printed and folded. The concept for this project was inspired by the many forms of sacred geometry, and the comparison between the geometric shapes. Spinning tops are also perfectly balanced, perfectly shaped, and perfectly aligned.
Each top features a different pattern, which all look attractive stationary, as well as once spun. The shape of the packaging is unique in that one of the bottom corners is flattened so that the box may be propped up on a point, creating a display position for the toy. The interior of the boxes are painted from a set of gradient colors, with the more natural forms of geometry featuring a greener color, while the more cerebral and spiritual geometries reflect blue colors.
